How to Be Successful

To learn to float and swim on your own the universal way (Miracle Swimming),* you need at least the book and tether. The book gives you every single step of overcoming fear and learning to swim. It’s more than you’ve heard before!  Learn why you must not push yourself. Floating is a basic skill. There are steps that come before floating. Skip no steps.

Tether: You have time to feel safe. When you feel safe, learning is inevitable and guaranteed. Learn that water holds you up; that you can be comfortable; how to stand up from a float.

If you’re one of the few who are not held up by the water, you’ll learn how to remain 100% present and calm when sinking. It’s not an emergency! Olympians sink. Sinking is okay when you’re in control.

The long piece is a belt. The white loop connects you to the Aquatic Learning Station, ladder or rail. The blue strap extends or shortens your distance from your mooring. As you become confident, expand the tether to float further away. Color coded connectors make connections simple. Pipes fill with water, keeping Aquatic Learning Station on the floor. It quickly drains during easy removal from pool.

Good floats can be horizontal, diagonal, or vertical.

Use an Aquatic Learning Station if you have no rail, ladder, or hook in your pool to connect to the tether.

FAQ

1. Why do I need the book, video, float bar and podcast?
You need the book and tether. You don’t need the video and podcast, though they add to your understanding and comfort. You need the float bar if you have nothing to attach the tether to at your pool.

Much common knowledge is incorrect. If you use common knowledge to teach yourself to put your face in and float, it’s likely that you’ll follow traditional thinking, skip steps, and become discouraged. Is this your story?

The video and podcast flesh out your understanding of how to learn to overcome fear. No pushing. Learn how the water—and healing fear—work. This information is not found anywhere else we’ve seen. At Miracle Swimming, our 41 years of exclusively teaching afraid adults assures you that no step is skipped; success is inevitable. Learn how to learn, feeling safe all the time.

The urgency to learn is understandable. However, you can only guarantee learning if you start at the beginning and skip no steps. The book provides the universal steps an adult needs to learn to swim, from any level of fear in shallow water to freedom in deep water. It doesn’t include strokes because strokes are not relevant to overcoming fear.

The video, 47 minutes, is an introduction to our system, following the story of an Essentials 1 course with actual students learning for the first time. It includes the infallible 5 Circles system which leads students out of fear; lessons of learning to put your face in; and front and back floats. Excerpts of the course follow students’ progress over an 8-week / 24 hour course including their first lessons in the deep end. It’s our starting course in action.

The photo under the first video above shows our wallbar, custom-fit to the lip of the pool. You would use a railing, ladder or our Aquatic Learning Station pictured below. We include a crossbar at both ends now.

She floats horizontally, so her bar is 2 inches above the surface.

2. How high should the Bar be?
Your belly should not touch the  bar when you float on your back. If it does, put it in shallower water. Or, make your bar taller.

How can you know in advance if your belly will touch it?
If you’re fairly lean, you will most likely float at a diagonal and your feet will be on the floor, belly below the surface and the bar.

If you’re not as lean, you will most likely float horizontally and your belly will touch the bar: put it in slightly shallower water.

*3. Does the water hold everyone up? Even me?
Most Olympic swimmers sink. There’s a small percentage of the rest of us who sink. We are dense with muscle and bone. Those who sink can be perfectly safe.

The Aquatic Learning Station is for back yard and community pools and swim schools. The wallbar attached to the lip of the pool above is custom-made for our courses. Patented.

How to Put It Together

Got the Aquatic Learning Station? Our founder will show you in a 5-minute video how to assemble both it and the Tether. Very simple. The video is sent at the time of purchase.

Assemble the Aquatic Learning Station with or without the end crossbars. Some people prefer the added stability. The Aquatic Learning Station functions fine without them.

This is a photo. Video is sent upon purchase.
