Lifeguard Training:
The lower BrickHandle at the right makes it easy for trainees to pick up a brick with one hand and use the other hand to swim. Yellow straps let you know the brick is wearing a handle if you leave it on the bottom.
BrickHandle makes it possible to carry two bricks with one hand for extra practice with weight.
It is adjustable to change the fit.
Add more play to your teaching and learning. A brick, 10 pounds of rubber, is a fun way to learn about:
Many believe they sink. But a prop like the brick is the only way most people can get to the bottom.
Once people learn that they float and how they float, they want to know how to be comfortable at any spot in the pool. They need to be comfortable at the bottom. They want to be able to pick up their dropped keys/phone/sunglasses! A brick helps them learn how to stay down, connect with their air, learn all the ways to come back up, and how balance works in the water. It teaches them how much weight will counter their buoyancy and that they can be in control on the bottom.
The upper BrickHandle shown above with the extra buckle attaches to a tether (sold separately) that is suspended from the pool deck: a starting block, a lane rope grommet, a ladder rail. This allows more advanced students to sink to the bottom and learn all the ways to return to the surface. The tether makes them feel safe to try. A great learning toy. The Learn-to-Swim version can be used for lifeguard training as well.
