“Dear Future Dive Students:
Slow down to your own pace and take the time you need to perform each skill without fear. Resist the urge to rush through it or keep up with the students in your class. You don’t just want to get the certification. You want confidence in water, to go from here to there with ease, and to find safety within yourself. If you honor yourself in this way, you can find joy in diving for years to come. If you start slowly and do whatever it takes to remain in control you’ll master the toughest skills. I turned my goal from skills to comfort. It meant that I had to go back and relearn some basic swimming skills to move forward again. My Miracle Swimming adult learn-to-swim journey helped me gain confidence, control and presence in water and therefore, I am a Certified Open Water Diver today!” —BH, Atlanta
